The state of the Microsoft Windows Phone operating system does not seem to be an advantage. At least for now, Windows Phone can’t be ruled out like BlackBerry. In the first quarter of 2017, global sales of other smartphones increased by 3.9 percent, while sales of Windows Phone did not increase, but decreased by 2 percent (currently 0.6%, which was 2.5% this season last year). Sales of Windows Phone dropped from 8.26 million to 2.4 million Stands.
This is not surprising, since Microsoft launched two Windows Phones last October, and Redmond announced last week that they were selling their feature phone division. Although the current Lumia Phone Division support will continue, Windows has not yet said anything about a new phone.
Of these, BlackBerry’s market share fell from 0.4% to 0.2%. Apple iPhone’s market share has decreased from 16.9% to 14.6% and Android’s market share has increased from 7.8% to 74.1%.
However, there are rumors that Microsoft may bring a new Surface phone to the market in 2018, which, if true and successful, will make Windows Phone fight again to compete in the market. I was waiting for that. Long live Windows mobile.
