This is a screenplay for a Hollywood movie. But the whole thing is inspired by reality. Hollywood supernatural horror movies like ‘The Sea of Trees’ or ‘The Forest’ became super hit with the story of the horrific incident of the forest of suicide. Suicide rate
The Japanese have a higher suicide rate than any other citizen in the world. And the trend of suicide in Aokigahara forest started from 1950. In 2002, six bodies were recovered from the jungle. The number in 2003 exceeded 100. In 2004, more than a hundred people committed suicide in this forest. The death toll has risen in recent days. The Japanese government later stopped publishing suicide rates. The tendency to commit suicide by hanging from a tree or taking drugs is high in this forest.
Novel in the woods
In 1960, Psycho Matsumoto, a Japanese writer, wrote a novel, The Tower of Webs. It is said that since the publication of that novel, the tendency to commit suicide has increased in the forests of Aokigahara. Two characters from this novel committed suicide in this forest. Since then, the Japanese have come to believe that their families and children would be happier in the future if they committed suicide here. A special team of police, volunteers and journalists was formed. Their main job was to find dead bodies in the jungle and discourage people from committing suicide.

Two Hollywood films have been made about the mystery of the Aokigahara Jungle. ‘The Sea of Trees’ (2016) or ‘The Forest’ (2016). The box office collection of the two films was great. The first film was about the mysterious forest Aokigahara and the second film was mainly a supernatural horror film. After seeing this picture, Aokigahara became a place of great attraction for many adventure lovers. Apart from the miracles, the mysteries of nature are no less interesting.
