The report states that this is a secret project, which is still in its infancy. It may be canceled and announced later. However, the idea is that the team’s job could be to develop communication satellite technology so that users of other Apple devices, including the iPhone, can send and receive data directly to the device. This will allow you to connect Apple devices without the need for a third party network.
However, Apple will not make hardware for its own satellites. But transmission devices or ground-based devices have the potential to make Apple. The technology can be used to deliver data directly to Apple devices. It will also allow devices to connect to each other outside the cellphone carrier data network. As well as improving the map and guidance system can be eye-catching.
Apple has reportedly hired both executives and engineers from Airspace and the satellite industry. Michael Trela and John Fenwick, alumni of Skybox Imaging, are leading the team. The duo previously served as top brass for Google’s satellites and spacecraft division. The team also includes Ashley Moore Williams, a former CEO of Aerospace Corporation. Key employees from the wireless networking and content distribution network industry are also working on the project.
The idea of delivering data directly from space to devices may sound new, but it’s not. An organization called Lynk is already working on this type of technology. Although Apple has not yet announced the purpose of the satellite.
