The latest model in Apple’s flagship desktop build Mac Pro series was released in 2013. After that, Mac Pro fans were getting annoyed as it was not being updated anymore. Finally, to please the fans, a new model of Mac Pro was announced at Apple’s developer conference this year.

There is no doubt that this desktop with RAM slot up to 1.5 terabytes will please the buyers with its performance. But to disappoint middle-class customers, the price has skyrocketed.

The base version will start at six thousand dollars. It will have a 6-core Intel Zion processor, 32GB RAM, 256GB SSD and AMD’s Radion Pro 560X graphics card.

However, high-end versions of the Mac Pro will have a special GPU called Radion Pro Vega 2 GPU and Apple Afterburner. It can process 6 billion pixels per second.

Take a look at the key features of the Mac Pro:

  • Stainless steel frame, 360 degree interior access
  • Maximum 26 core Intel Zion processor, 300 watts power
  • DDR4 RAM up to a maximum of 1.5 terabytes
  • 6 PCIE slots
  • Radion Pro Vega 2 Duo GPU
  • Afterburner graphics chip
  • 2 Thunderbolt 3 ports
  • 2 USB A ports
  • 3.5mm audio jack
  • 2 10 Gbps Ethernet ports

Its aluminum body is very nicely designed. Apple calls this the “cheesegrator” design. Because it looks a lot like Cheesegretter or Vegetable Greater. At the same time its cooling system has been improved a lot.

However, their new Mac Pro is being widely criticized for the extra price. It is possible to build a Windows based PC with the same configuration at a much lower cost. Although Apple’s Mac OS has its own fanbase who do not feel comfortable on Windows PC.
