Those who could not see the emails after the attack are expected to get rid of the problem soon, the Windows maker said. This happened to Hotmail users in 1997 when Microsoft was about to move their new email service to Outlook.
On Tuesday evening, Microsoft came to know about the attack on Hotmail and Outlook systems.
Some of the users were not seeing their specific emails, and in some cases access to the entire mailbox was blocked. The service provider itself said it was taking longer than expected to resolve the issue, and Redmond apologized to customers.
Microsoft’s cloud storage service SkyDrive has also been accused of having similar problems. However, the provider did not comment on SkyDrive.
