Rhythmic Keyboard, a popular software for writing Bangla on Android devices, was removed from the Play Store by Google a few days ago. At that time, according to multiple news sources in Bangladesh, Google removed the Rhythmic Keyboard app from the Play Store for allegedly infringing on the copyright of ‘Vijay Keyboard’ developed by ‘Ananda Computers’.

According to these sources, based on the complaint of Mustafa Jabbar, CEO of Ananda Computers and owner of Vijay Bangla Keyboard, Google removed Rhythmic Keyboard and another Bengali typing keyboard app called Unibijay from the Play Store on Wednesday, March 4.

The ‘Unijoy’ layout used on the Rhythmic and Univijoy keyboards was originally a copyright-related issue. Unijoy’s layout violates patent layout of Vijay Keyboard, claims Ananda Computers It is known.

Eventually Rhythmic Keyboard authorities removed that ‘Unijoy’ layout from their app and re-released the software in the Google Play Store. This new (4.0.3) version of Rhythmic Keyboard is available for download on the Google Play Store on Monday 9th March. It has phonetic Bangla typing feature (much like Avro), morning layout and national layout. There’s also External Keyboard Support (Phonetic and English only; press F12 to switch) and Lollipop theme.
