Be careful! Don’t be fooled by running free internet!

online scamYou will see hundreds of posts on various Bengali blogs and Facebook pages with the headline “Run free internet on your mobile, give bamboo to such and such ‘operator”. Many have even managed to run ‘free’ internet sometimes through proxy / custom opera mini etc. But it is not an easy task to fool or ‘give bamboo’ to the mobile operators who have invested billions of rupees.

Proxymen (ie those who use proxies: P) come up with new approaches one after another and mobile companies try to prevent them by updating their technology. All the proxies I’ve seen have had their proxy systems crash at some point and have had to stop using free internet.

So the proxy did not stop. ‘Research’ is going on. And in the meantime many have opened businesses with this proxy.

What business? This is a complete hoax. Many people say on Facebook nowadays “If you want to use free internet, then like my page”! Some say again “Run free internet with such operator with bamboo, add / follow me for details”!

Many people are tempted to like these pages and follow the profiles. This increases the “ad me” Facebook ‘friend’ and the fan base of the so-called page admins, thus clearing the way for making money by promoting other people’s pages in the future.

But how long? Remember, it is not good to be greedy. And if you want to get anything in a dishonest way, you have to match it.

The customers of ‘Robi’ mobile operator in Bangladesh have sensed this issue to the bone. Many people may have seen a post on the blog or Facebook to write,

“Share this post and tell your friends and everyone follow this rule and accept the new offer. Even if you don’t give it now (for a small amount of money) Robi is giving 1GB Dhamaka Offer of 35 Taka. Now a confirmation message will come to your mobile, then you dial (another short code here) your work is done. You can get 1 GB for 316 rupees for only 35 rupees. “

There are some more posts like this that start this way Robi Internet, the second largest mobile operator in Bangladesh, has just been hacked.

Now come to the real word. The ‘Robi Hack Offer’ given above is basically a hoax. If you follow the above rules in the lure of free / hacked internet, then the balance will be transferred from your mobile to the Robi number in the short code. This means that if you follow the above procedure, the money will be deducted from your mobile, which will be credited to the account in that short code. Many have been deceived by this and some people are still posting the same in this greed.

Registration is no longer required for transferring balance from one mobile to another in Robi. Go to the message option for transfer, enter the amount of money (eg, 20) and send an SMS to 1212017xxxxxxxx (here 017xxxxxxxx is the number of the recipient of the balance).

Let’s see if it matches with the fake internet post above! At this link You can see the detailed rules of Robi balance transfer.

The way you use the internet as you wish, just check with common sense and other sources before applying these. Aren’t you actually being cheated?

In today’s post, however, I did not blame the proxies. I did not say anything for the mobile operators. I just wanted to say, don’t jump at any free / discount offer you see on the internet. Go ahead with a lot of thought. Have a good time. Thanks.
