Earlier in 2016, with the permission of the government, they had experimentally launched a DTH service called Real View in Dhaka. This time they came up with the full version of the name Akash. It will broadcast the signal directly from the satellite to the TV through a small dish antenna on the roof of the house. The cable operators we currently use with the line of the dish can be seen much better and clearer picture. Moreover, the device called own set top box will be attached to the TV, so there is an opportunity to watch the channel selectively.
Initially, 115 channels will be available through this service. Apart from GTV, all other Bangladeshi channels will also be seen. The subscription charge for their standard package has been fixed at Rs 399 per month. However, depending on the number of channels, many more packages can be chosen. Initially the cost for the whole setup will be 6499 rupees. This money will give you an HD set top box, remote control and a small dish antenna with a KU band. Akash has said that it will provide 24-hour customer service through its call center.
For now, people of 20 districts will be able to enjoy Akash’s service. These are Dhaka, Mymensingh, Tangail, Kishoreganj, Narsingdi, Gazipur, Narayanganj, Manikganj, Comilla, Noakhali, Feni, Cox’s Bazar, Chittagong, Khagrachhari, Rangamati, Sylhet, Moulvibazar, Habiganj, B-Baria and Sunamganj. Later, 64 districts of the country will be connected gradually. You need to contact Akash DTH Agent in your district to get the connection.
