September 1, 2015 Branor “Happy Sale Day” was announced two weeks ago on the occasion of the anniversary. “Happy Sale Day” is very similar to Amazon’s “Black Friday” or Flipkart’s “Big Billion Day” which means this type of discount is offered only once a year and customers are eagerly waiting for these days to shop online. On the occasion of “Happy Sale Day”, Brano offers discounts of up to 35% on various products on their site. For two weeks, the campaign was carried out in various media including social, blog, online, news, newspapers.
As a result, on September 1, they sold a record amount of products (over Rs. 10 lakhs) in Bangladesh, creating a record for the highest sales in a single day in the Bangladesh e-commerce industry.
Talking about Brano’s preparations with their Head of Operations Sea. He said that they had started stocking the products in their warehouses long ago so that the products could be delivered to the customers very easily. “Happy Sale Day” was from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Accordingly, in order to serve the customers till 12 o’clock at night, the preparation was already done. Live chats with customers, phone calls, call backs, answering all the messages on social media, they are able to do everything much better. Sajib Barua, Technical Head, told us about their technical readiness, “Brano always uses a server with 16 processors and 32 GB of RAM. But on the occasion of “Happy Cell Day”, the server memory was doubled as a precaution and the server was monitored 24×6 hours to avoid any kind of hacking or server downtime. As such, we have achieved 100 percent success. ”
We asked Aldrin Chowdhury, their head of marketing, about their preparation, some statistics and figures. He told us, “Over the last two weeks, we have been conducting marketing campaigns in various media including social, blog, online, news, magazines so that the highest number of customers in the country can enjoy this one day offer.” As such, we have received a response far beyond our expectations. The sale started at ten in the morning and within thirty minutes of the start we sold more than 1 lakh rupees. This day our site has 36,350 visitors, 259,659 page views. We’ve supported 326 phone calls, 144 Facebook messages, 84 people live chat support, and 54 people directly on our site. As a result, we have successfully completed 430 orders in one day, valued at Rs. 10,05,931. We really want to see overwhelmed customers put their trust and confidence in us and make us feel very happy for this “Happy Sale Day”. These days will be the inspiration for us to move forward. ”
About Brano’s “Happy Sale Day” Brano’s CEO Mr. When asked about Rajiv Roy, he told us, “In fact, we (Brano.com) have seen that many people in Bangladesh are reluctant to buy or rely on online shopping. That is why we have taken this initiative to encourage the people of Bangladesh to buy and sell online and to build trust. This was our main objective so that consumers would have confidence in shopping online and get the opportunity to buy products at nominal prices. The main purpose of our “Happy Sale Day” was to make our customers happy on the anniversary of our company. We think we have achieved this goal. However, we have the opportunity to improve more because our conversion rate is much lower than in foreign countries. We’re constantly working on how to make it happen. ”
Rajib Ahmed, President of E-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (E-CAB) said, “This is a historic day for the e-commerce sector in Bangladesh. Some buyers have called me in person. I hope next year Brano will sell one crore rupees in one day. ”
We used to see special days for e-commerce in USA, China and India. This trend has also started in Bangladesh, which Brano.com has followed very successfully. We hope that the rest of our e-commerce sites like Brano.com will be able to select more special days and offer a big discount to encourage people in our country to buy and sell online. In this way, if everyone works together in the way shown by Brano, then our country’s e-commerce industry can play a huge role in keeping our country’s economy and Bangladesh in tune with the developed world.
