The one-time web giant Yahoo recently sold most of its known online business (Yahoo Mail, Search, Flickr, Tumblr, etc.) to US telecom giant Verizon. The rest is Yahoo Holding Company. Marissa Mayer, then CEO of undivided Yahoo, has resigned from the board of directors of Yahoo Holding Company. At the same time, the name of Yahoo Holding Company has been changed to ‘Altaba’ Being.
David Philo, a co-founder of Yahoo, and four other directors are stepping down along with Marissa Meyer. However, Marissa Meyer may still be in charge of Verizon.
An era of Yahoo has already ended. In July last year, US telecom company Verizon bought Yahoo’s core web business for ৮ 4.63 billion.
