The baby’s skin is soft. Moisture breaks down the oily natural layer of the skin due to moisture when the sensitive skin is exposed to urine and feces for some time. It causes the skin to swell or look like a reddish rash. We call this kind of problem rash.

In an interview with Doctor TV, Dr. Pediatrician at Sir Salimullah Medical College Mitford Hospital in Dhaka, Dr. Naima Sultana.

He said that after changing the diaper, some recognized norms should be done, the baby’s lower abdomen should be washed with mild soapy water. After changing each diaper in this way, the baby’s diaper area should be washed well with water. However, many parents use artificial things (scented tissue paper and special cleaning materials), some of which remain on the baby’s skin. This type of thing can be irritating to the skin, especially if the baby has a rash can be harmful.

Dr. Naima Sultana said the diaper rash would heal faster if the affected area was allowed open air. Therefore, after cleaning the area instead of diapers, the baby should be kept without diapers for at least 10-15 minutes. Even then, if the rash provokes discomfort, you have to do ‘sijbath’. This will help the skin to retain moisture. The rash will heal quickly. A sizzling bath is a dipping of the buttocks in a large bowl or tub of mild warm water. The baby should be kept in the sisbath with toys like this. The duration of each sisbath can be from 5 to 10 minutes. It will definitely be of some benefit.

If the diaper is too tight, you can cut the elastic near both thighs. This will loosen the diaper. When the diaper is loose, there is air inside. It also protects against rashes. And when buying diapers, you have to check whether it is absorbent, comfortable and leakproof.

He added that especially when traveling, when the baby is sleeping at night, some people wear diapers all day long. No matter when you wear it, you need to take care to change the diaper within four to six hours. And if the child urinates, it should be changed as soon as possible. Baby diapers should be worn with care so that the baby can be properly absorbed when he urinates.
