Domestic companies are ready to supply at least 40 million doses of vaccine every month. In this case, there is no fear of any change in quality. However, there is still no good news about the vaccine in Russia and China. The health department has not been able to say exactly when it will be available. Letters are being exchanged, said the director general of the health department.

Vaccination activities started in Bangladesh before many middle income countries. However, due to shortage of stocks, the first dose was stopped within about two and a half months.

The government is looking for alternative sources in the uncertainty of getting the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine. Approved were Russia’s Sputnik V and China’s Sinovac. According to the Department of Drug Administration, 4 million doses of Sputnik V will be coming soon in the GTZ process which will be packaged in Bangladesh.

The Incepta vaccine official said that they are capable of producing three times the domestic demand for the vaccine. If all goes well, it is possible to meet the local demand and export.

Dr. EH Arefin Ahmed added that the maximum capacity of our total plant is about 40 million doses per month. We have to go through many steps in the interest of quality. So inshallah there will be no question about the value here.

Before the agreement, a team of Russian experts will inspect the factories in Bangladesh. However, the process has not started yet. So there is no good news about when the vaccine will be available.

Department of Health spokesman Prof. Robed Amin said it is very difficult to say exactly when the vaccine will be available until a paperwork is completed.

The use of Russia’s Sputnik V and China’s Sinovac has started in different countries of the world. However, the two vaccines have not yet been approved by the World Health Organization.
