Driverless trucks made in Japan

JSDTYou may already know that Google, Nissan and some other companies have had great success in making driverless or automatic cars. The search giant has already left their self-driving car on the road. Researchers in the United Kingdom have recently discovered affordable alternatives to these sophisticated vehicles. All this is fairly old news. The new thing is that Japan has gone a little bigger and started building driverless trucks. Preliminary testing is underway after the construction of the automated freight vehicle under the supervision of a government-funded company in the country.

The New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NIDO) has recently driven four trucks about 13 feet of space under the program to reduce fuel consumption.

These vehicles are able to reduce fuel consumption by avoiding collisions with the wind (somewhat like race cars). In 2010, the same company crossed a distance of 50 feet with three cars, but in 2013, the test is facing more success, said the people concerned.

Japanese media NHK One report says the technology could save up to 15 percent on fuel costs.

One of the four trucks was driven by a human driver and was followed by three other computer-powered vehicles. Almost the same technology is being developed in the U.S. military, but Japanese trucks can run alone without a manned guide.
