From 2016, Facebook is going to provide internet facility through satellite in Africa. Initially, Facebook planned to do this via its own satellite, but due to various complications, the company entered into an agreement with Utelsat. Utelsat says the current capabilities of their satellites will enable Internet access to be delivered directly to users, making it possible to provide Internet access in remote areas of Africa.
