Fingerprint sensor of Samsung Galaxy S10 can be hacked!

The most hyped device so far this year is Samsung’s Galaxy S10 series. Great look, great all the features – what not in the devices! One of the interesting things about it was its in-display fingerprint sensor.

Many other companies have come up with in-display fingerprint sensors before Samsung but with the latest technology Samsung has surpassed the rest.

Samsung’s sensor uses an ultrasonic sound wave, while other companies’ in-display fingerprint sensors examine fingerprints by emitting bright light from the screen. That’s why its fingerprint sensor is much faster and more accurate.

Even if there is no light on the display to unlock the phone. Where Samsung was getting applause for this new technology, it is natural for Samsung fans to be disappointed with a new news. Not only this, it is also a matter of concern for the technology world or for Samsung.

In a recent post on the photo-sharing site Imager.com, a man showed how easy it is to fool someone’s 3D-printed fingerprint into Samsung’s ultrasonic fingerprint sensor in that person’s absence. The post is attached here.

I attempted to fool the new Samsung Galaxy S10’s ultrasonic fingerprint scanner by using 3d printing. I succeeded.

That person named DarkShark In the post Shown in detail. According to him, just three attempts are enough to fool this fingerprint sensor with his homemade fingerprint.

In fact, all he did was take his fingerprints in a glass of wine, then take a picture with the camera. He then took the image to Photoshop, created an alpha mask, and imported it into the 3D rendering software 3DS Max.

He then 3D printed it on an incubator LCD resin printer. It took him only 13 minutes to do that. And so he fooled the fingerprint sensor and took access to the phone.

It’s just that why would anyone do so much to get access to someone’s phone? But even then, it calls into question the security of the ultrasonic indisplay fingerprint sensor.
