Rumors of the use of fingerprint technology in Apple’s smartphones have been circulating in the technology world for a long time. But the latest version of the iPhone did not show any such surprises, but the chances are much higher later. In the middle of last year, Apple bought the biometric security company Authentech for 350 million. The idea is to introduce the new technology to the company’s other products, including the iPhone, which features fingerprints, Irish scans, and so on.

Apple may be ahead of the competition by introducing a sophisticated feature like this in the next iPhone model (maybe iPhone 5S). In this case, there may be a fingerprint recognition chip under the home button of the device.

Starting with the Android-based Galaxy S3 last year, Samsung has also been working to increase the security of their smartphones. The owner’s appearance is unlocked using the Korean company’s “Face Unlock” feature camera. However, one of the major drawbacks of this technology is that it is possible to fool Face Unlock by showing a picture of the designated person. So it can’t be relied on too much.

Like the Apple iPhone, the Samsung Galaxy S4 also has voice recognition that is used to lock-unlock. But there are limitations to not being able to identify a particular voice separately. Hopefully this problem will be overcome soon.
