Last year Google launched their web version of Gmail New feature update In addition to tweaks, it has introduced a brand new offline mode feature. By using this Gmail offline feature you can enjoy various benefits of Gmail in your PC browser without internet connection.

This offline mode of Gmail will only work on computers with Google Chrome browser. So if you are using any other browser, you must first install Google Chrome to use this offline feature.

So, login to Gmail and click on the gear icon at the top right. Enter the settings page from the menu. Now go to the Offline tab on the far right of the header section of the settings page. From there, you can customize the offline mode by pressing the Save Changes button below and the offline mode will be turned on.

You will get various options for offline mode customization. For example, you can specify the last time your inbox will be synced. You can also choose whether the messages will be downloaded with or without attachments.

Since messages and attachments will be downloaded to your PC’s hard drive, it would be advisable to store email for a maximum of one week if you want to save storage.

Here you will also find an option related to security. If you log out of your account, you also have the power to decide whether it will delete or leave the downloaded data on your PC.

You will not be able to receive new emails while offline. However, if you want to send an email, if you select the send option, it will be stored in the outbox, and if you get a net connection, then the mail will be delivered.

If you want to turn off the Gmail offline feature, you must first change your Gmail settings (https://mail.google.com/#settings/offline) To close (uncheck) it. Then remove “All cookies and site data” from the Chrome browser settings.
