Whatever the name, Android After KitKat, this new ‘L’ version will come with a big redesign, which is known as ‘Material Design’ in Google. This robotic font material design will be applied to all devices running Google’s Android and Chrome OS.
The user interface of the next version of Android will be much flatter than before. The three buttons at the bottom of the screen of the Android device have also changed their shape. One is square, one is round and the other is triangular. It has more smooth animation. Other UI components for Android will continue to be rearranged as you use them.
Android’s notification pan and lockscreen are being integrated in the new version. Google is adding a new drop-down option to get notifications while using the phone. It can be easily turned on or off. The new design will also be widely used in multitasking, searching, browsing, dialing, email, etc. functions in the ‘Android L’ version.
Google’s mobile operating system will technically use Android runtime which will work well with less powerful hardware. Google will add a new dimension to battery saving in Android with the help of a new program called ‘Project Volta’. The company says that the Nexus 5 smartphone will get more than 90 minutes of battery backup with the help of Project Volta.
Android L Developer Preview Version can be downloaded and tested today (June 25-26). The final version will be released between September-December this year.
