Grameenphone thinks that the new tax on SIM replacement without withdrawing the existing Tk 300 SIM tax will hamper the spread of mobile phones in the country and the implementation of Digital Bangladesh.

According to the BTRC, the total number of mobile phone subscribers in Bangladesh till April was more than 11 crore. Of this, 4 crore 8 lakh subscribers are Grameenphone.
