Grameenphone’s 3G has reached 64 districts

Grameenphone’s Chief Technology Officer Tanvir Mohammad said, “About 40 per cent of our customers are now covered by the 3G network and 75 per cent of the existing 3G devices can use the 3G network.”

3G was launched commercially on October 8 Grameenphone. The 3G license stipulated that the service should be launched in the divisional cities within 9 months.

Vivek Sood further said, “Grameenphone currently has around 4 lakh 3G subscribers, and every day 10,000 subscribers are availing different types of 3G packages and 20 to 25 percent of them are availing 3G packages for the first time.”
