The Guinness Book of World Records said in a statement that the record of singing the national anthem together is now in the possession of the Bangladesh Ministry of Culture. Two lakh 54 thousand 538 people sang the national anthem together at the National Parade Ground on the Independence Day on March 26, setting the record.

The main English post of the organization reads, “The most people singing a national anthem simultaneously is 254,537 and was achieved by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh (Bangladesh) at the National Parade Ground in Dhaka, Bangladesh, on March 26, 2014. ”

Earlier, on May 7, 2013, India sang Guinness World Records by singing the national anthem in unison. 1 lakh 21 thousand 753 people took part in the event organized by Sahara India family.
