Japanese multinational automobile maker Honda has developed driverless cars. The company also approved the automated drive on California roads Taken. In the meantime, Honda Motors Company Limited has joined Google and Volkswagen in this technology.
A list has been published on the website of the California Department of Motor Vehicles stating that 10 companies have been allowed to drive their automated vehicles on the roads of California. Honda’s name is also on this list.
Other companies that will get the opportunity include Daimler’s Mercedes-Benz, Tesla Motors, Nissan Motors and BMW AG.
Honda has introduced the Advanced Driver Assistance system in its new model car Acura. Other companies’ automated models are still in a semi-autonomous state.
A Honda spokesman said the Japanese carmaker had laboratories in San Francisco and California to test automatic cars. Vehicles will be tested here before leaving the road.
In addition to California, Michigan, Florida and Nevada have permission to park on the road. Google has said that by 2020, these cars will be suitable for release in the market.
