Xiaomi has been meeting the demand for fitness bands for the last few years. But not less than Huawei. Like Mi Band, Huawei’s Honor Bands are also very popular. And since their prices are also close, there is always a competition between them.

Shortly after the launch of Mi Band 4, Huawei and their fitness band came up with an upgraded version of Honor Band 5. It looks a lot like the previous version of Honor Band 4, but it has some improvements.

It has a 0.95 inch colored AMOLED display wrapped in 2.5D curved glass. According to Honor CEO George Zhao, it has a Blood Oxygen Monitor which will measure and inform the user if there is a lack of oxygen in the blood. This is definitely a nice feature. It will also monitor the heart rate 24 hours a day with the help of artificial intelligence. The biggest thing is that the accuracy of the heart rate monitor of Honor Band 5 is about 98.6 percent. It also has Huawei’s True Slip 2.0 technology for slip analysis.

Honor Band 5 supports Bluetooth 4.2 and is waterproof up to 50 meters to take water. Huawei claims that the 100 mAh battery in it can provide backup for up to 14 days. However, if you monitor the heart rate for 24 hours, the battery will give only 7 days backup.

The standard variant of the band is priced at 189 yuan and another variant with NFC is priced at 219 yuan. It will be available in the Chinese market from the 29th of this month.
