HP’s new invention uses “directional pixel” technology where, in simple terms, red, blue and green light emitted by a directional pixel through a simple LCD display is transformed into a moving image.
Since the development of the display is at a very grassroots level at present, the images displayed in it may not seem very ahamari. It also has some limitations in its functionality so that it can display 3D images up to 1 meter at a 180 degree angle while viewing stills. And for 30 frames / second quality film, you must focus from a 90 degree angle.
Directly supported content for HP’s holographic 3D screen is not available at this time. If you want to display it, you have to process 200 different images in one frame for each final 3D scene.
All in all, the technology may seem a bit daunting at the moment, but the day may not be far off when all your friends will be able to enjoy a memorable moment from your smartphone screen in three dimensions at once.
