For now, they have launched the phone in partnership with UAE telecom operator Etisalat. Since 5G has not been launched in all the countries yet, it is natural that the phone will not be launched globally. Huawei has used their own 5G chip Balance 5000 in the phone. While another competitor, Qualcomm, has its own 5G chip, the special feature of Huawei’s Ballon 5000 is that it is the world’s first 5G chip built in 8 nanometer process and supports multimode. This means it can be connected to standalone and non-standalone 5G networks at the same time. Moreover, it supports 4G, 3G and 2G networks and other generations.
Aside from the 5G support, in terms of specifications, it’s similar to Huawei’s recently released Mate 20X. It has a 6.2-inch Super AMOLED display, 48, 20 and 6 megapixel triple cameras, 24 megapixel selfie camera and Kirin 960 chipset. However, this 5G variant of the phone has increased the storage capacity to 256 GB, but the battery has been reduced from 5000 mAh to 4200 mAh.
The phone is already being bought at the Etisalat store in the UAE for 3,500 dirhams or Rs 60,000. It will be released in some European countries in a few days.
