kill switch mobile 1Prevents increasing mobile theft Google Oh Microsoft They are going to launch a new feature ‘Kill Switch’ in their respective mobile operating systems which will make the obsolete smartphone ‘completely unusable’.

The ‘Secure Hour Smartphone’ program will result in two types of kill switches. Android Oh Windows Phone operating system. One is ‘hard’ kill switch and the other is ‘soft’.

BBC in reference to the source ReportingIf you turn on the hard kill switch, the smartphone will be completely useless. Then it cannot be used for any purpose other than a paperweight or a toy. Soft kill switches, on the other hand, make the device temporarily unusable, which can be unlocked by the actual user.

Of course, the kill switch also has some limitations. First, you need the help of a network operator to ‘kill’ the phone. You have to send the kill command through the mobile operator’s network on the stolen phone. So if you don’t use any SIM card in the sets or keep it offline with ‘Flight Mode’, it will not come to any more network, as a result it will not be possible to kill the device.

Some claim that in the near future, hackers may be able to figure out ways to stop the kill switch. According to them, the only way to make a smartphone permanently useless is to destroy its mechanical structure.

However, Apple and Samsung are already offering such features on their respective devices. It is learned that Kill Switch will be launched on Android and Windows Phone OS within a year.
