In August last year, Microsoft launched a legal battle against Samsung over its Android patent royalty. At the time, Windows manufacturers complained that Samsung was refusing to pay them due royalties. According to a lawsuit, Samsung pays a patent fee to Microsoft for each Android device. But after buying Nokia’s mobile division, Samsung sat bent. The Korean company says the previously signed cross-licensing agreement has become invalid due to its entry into the mobile device business and that it has decided not to pay royalties as before.
