As you may already know, in August of last year, Steve Ballmer, the former chief executive officer (CEO) of Microsoft, Announced his retirement. Ever since then, there has been a lot of speculation about who will be the new CEO of Microsoft.
He is also stepping down as chairman of the company Microsoft Co-founder Bill Gates. He will now serve as a technology advisor to Microsoft and will also serve as a board member.
The new chairman is John Thompson, who previously served as the company’s lead independent director.
Satya Nandela, the new CEO of Microsoft, is of Indian descent, aged 44 years. He is the third CEO of Microsoft. Mr Nandela joined Microsoft in 1992. He has managed the company’s cloud OS and server side well. Redmond hopes that Mr. Satya will successfully lead Microsoft to a new generation.
Critics, however, say Nandella does not have the experience to run a large company like Microsoft.
