Microsoft is experimentally displaying ads in the Start menu of the latest preview version of the Windows 10 operating system. In the Start Menu of Windows 10 Preview (Build 10585) one app advertisement from Windows Store is being shown as suggested app. App items are constantly being updated.

This suggested app appears in the Start 10 menu of Windows 10, showing a list of your most used apps. App ratings are also given below the suggested app titles.

However, there is nothing to be afraid of or annoyed by showing advertisements. At first, the ad is currently only in the Insider preview of Windows 10 Showing. And if you want, you can completely stop showing ads in the suggested app or start menu. So even if the feature of showing ads is added in the future by updating to the original user version of Windows 10, you can avoid it if you want.

Of course, it remains to be seen whether this suggested app feature will eventually be added to the original Windows 10. Because if users give negative feedback about it now, it may not see the light of day.
