Microsoft will release a Windows 10 anniversary update in the near future, and with this update, the number of prompted apps in the Start menu will be doubled. Revealed Redmond did. At last week’s Winhack conference, the company announced that it would increase the number to 10 in the next Windows 10 Anniversary Update, which will be available in July, instead of the 5 Prompted Apps now.
Prompted apps are basically a type of advertisement, because they are displayed for users from Microsoft’s App Store so that people are interested in them.
Although Microsoft has not made it clear why it is doubling the number of suggested apps, it is generally said that the initiative was taken to keep developers interested in the Windows Store and to get users used to the new app.
Windows 10 operating system is currently running on about 300 million devices. Microsoft is coming up with its free anniversary update next July which will bring a number of new features and enhancements.
