The Bangladesh government will fine the mobile operator up to Tk 300 crore for misusing the customer’s fingerprint taken during SIM registration.
The government is trying to prevent the misuse of fingerprints and assure the people of safety.
“There is no possibility of citizens being harassed, their fingerprints being used for any other purpose or their movable and immovable property being dragged away,” said Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam.
