In Bangladesh last week Launched App based taxi / car network Uber. Initially it started operations in Dhaka on a limited scale. I went to Dhanmondi 19’s Pizza Market for an official party. It was 8 o’clock at night. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post. You could easily get on the bus by going some distance by rickshaw. In any case, I prefer bus / rickshaw to CNG autorickshaw. But I did not want to cause so much trouble.

Sitting on the third floor of Pizza Hut, I requested a car from Uber. The Uber driver on the other end accepted the request. After going some distance, I dropped 3 people according to their needs and left for my destination. All in all, it took about half an hour.

Not all cars on the Uber network have the same condition. However, according to Uber’s standards, the Toyota car in today’s Uber network was not bad enough to take taxi service, even if it did not look shiny on the outside, AC and clean seats on the inside. At the beginning, I fixed the destination in the app. As a result, the driver stopped the car at the right place and completed the trip. The bill was 160 rupees. Having promotional balance, he did not have to pay any cash.

Today’s driver gave me a 5 star rating as an Uber passenger. I also gave him 5 stars. He deserved it. I also asked him about the current situation in Uber. The gentleman replied anxiously and cautiously, “The company says there will be no problem. Everything will be fine. ” He is very optimistic about Uber service in Bangladesh. The Uber network driver also said that he has carried hundreds of free promotional passengers in the last few days.

Usually bus or CNG passengers can use Uber occasionally. Uber can be a good option if you don’t get CNG or other vehicles in case of sudden emergency. For the time being less (heard 150) rolls can be 10-15 minutes wait / arrival time. Also keep in mind the issue of jam. However, in the near future this waiting time is expected to decrease. And considering security, it should not be left to Uber alone. In this case, government infrastructure, full accountability of the company, ensuring accurate information of the concerned manpower, telecom services etc. are very important. There is no substitute for being aware of yourself and making informed decisions. And yes, you can tell your family or friends about your location in real time while running Uber. This is a very useful feature.

The minimum fare (base fair) in Uber is 50 rupees. 16 rupees per kilometer and 2 rupees per minute. Besides, before going to any place, you can guess how much the rent will be in Uber app. The estimated fare for my trip today was 110 to 190 rupees. Base Fair, Jam and Distance combined cost 160 rupees in the end.

My experience riding Uber for the first time is good. I give Uber a score of 72 out of 100 for today’s service. If I showed live billing in mobile app, I would give 5 more numbers. However, 72 out of 100 is not bad, what do you say?
