Applying for a job at Upwork requires certain points each time, which are called “Connects” or “Connect”. Until now, certain connect upwork was given to all freelancers for free, so if there was an active profile, everyone could apply for a job in upwork. But a while ago, Upwork sent an email to freelancers informing them that these connections would no longer be available for free in the future. As a result, freelancers have to spend money to apply for a job at Upwork. This rule will be effective from May-June.
The amount of connect required to apply to them also varies depending on the job post. In this case, 1 to 6 connects are required to apply a job in Upwork at present.
However, if the client invites a freelancer to the job, then no connection is required to apply for that job.
If a client does not hire anyone for a job, then the job will be returned to those who applied at the cost of the job. Each connect will expire one year after the issue date.
Upwork authorities say they have introduced the new rules to help professional and quality freelancers get more contracts.
For new freelancers and agencies, the change will take effect in late April. In the case of existing freelancers and agencies, paid connections will be implemented gradually from May 2, 2019. The idea is that Paid Connect will be effective for all freelancers by the end of June.

Each Connect costs ড 0.15 and can be purchased in the following bundles:

- ৬ 8 for 40
- ড 9 for 60
- ড 12 for 60
How many connections are needed for a job proposal?
Upwork basically calculates how many connections it will take to apply the job according to its value. And to determine the value of the job, they estimate the estimated time it will take for the job, the amount of budget and with it the marketplace demand and consideration. This means that a long project with a big budget will require more connections than a small project.
