In Bangladesh, the merger of Robi Axiata Limited (Robi) and Airtel Bangladesh Limited (Airtel) has been completed. Following the merger, the two companies will operate under the name Robi Axiata Limited and Airtel will be an independent brand of Robi.
The number of customers of the consolidated entity stood at around 3 crore 22 lakhs.
As a result, Robi is the second largest mobile phone operator in the country. Grameenphone is in the first place with more than 5 crore subscribers.
