Aircraft hijack and crash by smartphone app?
Held in Amsterdam At the box conference Citing the hacking incident, Mr Teso said he was one of them Android Developed the application by which control of the aircraft can be taken. An app called Planesplute can interfere with the flight management system of an aircraft.
He said it was possible to operate the hijacked plane as desired using a flight simulator. Teso also demonstrates how the application can be used to capture everything from the aircraft’s AC to the navigation system.
The user interface of the software looks like an animated cockpit with the buttons needed to fly or crash. One of its functions is to turn on a special light in the cockpit to give the pilot a panic signal that the plane’s system is about to fail.
Mr Tesso said the hacking would be possible only if the aircraft was in “autopilot” mode. However, even in this situation, any pilot can take control of the plane manually.
However, the US Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) said it did not believe Hugo Tesso’s claim.
