For the first time in the last 6 years, the price of .com domain is going to increase. ICANN, the Internet Domain Registration Authority, ensures that the organization confirms this in a new agreement with its affiliate.

ICANN contracts with a company called Verisine to administer all .COM domain registration services in the world. In January 2020, Icon and Verisine made some changes to their agreement, which could increase the cost of the dotcom domain by up to 60% in the next 10 years.

At present the minimum cost is ৮ 7.75. The price of .com domain may increase up to 7% per year for the next 3 years. The .com domain price could rise to ৫ 53 in October this year. For the next 3 years the price increase will be stopped by increasing by 6% regularly for 2 years. After that Verisine will be able to increase the price again.

If this continues, the price of the dotcom domain will increase by about two and a half dollars in 2026. In this way, every 3 years, Verisine will be able to increase the price up to 6%. After 2 years that price will remain stable. Then the price may go up again for 3 years. It will continue like this.

Meanwhile, various domain registrar companies such as Namechip have taken to the field against the price hike. The companies have said they will fight back.
