In her budget speech, the Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina proposed to impose a surcharge on the use of mobile phones in the National Assembly on Saturday.

Prime Minister Said“The revenue from this surcharge can be spent on education and other sectors.”

Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith made the proposal Accepted. The finance minister said the surcharge on the use of mobile phones by the prime minister would be spent on education and health.

Besides, Sheikh Hasina in her speech drew the attention of the Finance Minister and said, “Tariffs on import of mobile phones can be reduced a bit.”
