Researchers at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom have found that coronary heart disease is one of the leading causes of depression, amnesia and cerebral palsy.
Studies have shown that one-third of those infected with coronary heart disease have either recurrent mental or neurological problems or have had previous problems.
However, those who were hospitalized or in the ICU, the risk level is higher, the researchers said. They believe that this is due to increased stress and the coronavirus directly affecting the brain.

The research team examined the medical records of more than half a million corona sufferers in the United States and tried to determine their risk of developing one of the most common psychiatric disorders. Their list includes diseases such as hemorrhage, Parkinson’s, Gillian-Barry syndrome (a type of flu-induced symptom), forgetfulness, mood disorders, and anxiety disorders.
Research has shown that corona sufferers suffer the most from anxiety and mood disorders. Researchers believe that these side effects may be due to the stress of being hospitalized after becoming very ill.
Studies have also shown that coronavirus infection can lead to stroke and forgetfulness as a result of the physical response in the human body.
However, researchers did not find any link between corona and increased risk of Parkinson’s or Gillian-Barry syndrome.
