Rules for re-registration of SIMs of all mobiles

The Department of Posts and Telecommunications of Bangladesh has directed to re-register the SIMs of all registered and unregistered mobile phones in the country. You can easily start the process of SIM registration of your mobile phone from home via SMS on mobile.

How Airtel, Banglalink, Grameenphone, Robi and Teletalk subscribers will provide information for SIM registration via SMS:

Go to the message option of the mobile and write SMS like this:

Number of your national identity card in English, date of birth according to the identity card, full name

Now send SMS to 1600 (free).

Format example:

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, 09 Oct 1988, Jobayer Ahmed

Send to 1600 (free). Return SMS (Your request has been accepted. Thank you for the information) – You will be notified that your information has been received.

How Citycell subscribers will provide information for SIM registration via SMS:

Go to the SMS option of the mobile, type U with space, write the number of national identity card in English with space, write the date of birth according to the identity card with space, write the full name with space and send the message to 1600.

Format example:

U xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 09 Oct 1988 Jobayer Ahmed

Send to 1600 (free). Return SMS (Your request has been accepted. Thank you for the information) – You will be notified that your information has been received.

There are also ways to provide information online. In that case search on the website of your mobile operator. Contact your mobile operator (Customer Care) for details.

Simply sending an SMS will not complete the SIM re-registration. Then the SIM information has to be updated with fingerprint. To know about him Check out this post.
