Samsung’s next flagship Android smartphone Galaxy S8 may hit the market next January. Although Samsung usually launches their Galaxy S series flagship phones in March-April, they may move the schedule a bit to compete with the new iPhone 7S. That’s it Reporting Korea ET News.
According to the magazine, Samsung will adopt a new strategy with the specification of Galaxy S8. It can be a ‘sub-premium’ device without being a fully premium phone. Galaxy S8 will not be as expensive as high-range phones like Galaxy S8, Galaxy Note 5 etc. It will have a slightly less powerful processor which will also reduce the power consumption. It will also ensure its quality performance.
Although the ET News report has not been confirmed by any of Samsung’s sources, it is expected that Samsung will follow suit, as both Google and Motorola have recently launched phones in this category.
One thing has been noticed in the smartphone market for the last two years. That is, if someone buys an expensive phone, they usually buy an iPhone. And when it comes to buying an Android phone, they buy a mid-priced phone. Samsung may try to increase sales of its devices following this trend.
