Apple-SamsungThe iPhone maker has won the latest legal battle between Samsung and Apple. A Japanese court has recently rejected Samsung’s application to ban the sale of Apple smartphones in the country. The Galaxy series Android device maker has accused Apple of illegally using the iPhone 3G technology.

South Korean Samsung has been embroiled in dozens of lawsuits with the same competitor worldwide, but Apple has won most of them.

The lawsuit was settled out of court in 2011. At the time, Samsung had alleged that Apple was using the Korean company’s data exchange strategy without any license fees. But the US technology company has argued in court that Samsung has no rights to the technology and does not deserve a license fee.

The lawsuit was probably funded by a ban on the sale of some older iPhones in Japan. There could have been fines as well. In the end, however, the judge ruled in Apple’s favor.

Apple also filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Samsung in the same court. However, in the eyes of the judge, it was not found to be correct, so a defeat went to the US company.

Samsung has been accused of infringing on more than two dozen patents against Apple in recent years. But according to intellectual property expert Florian Mueller, the Korean company has won only three of them (twice in its own country and once in the Netherlands).

As you may know, Apple won a historic patent trial with Samsung last year, and the court awarded গ 1.05 billion in damages to the Galaxy maker, alleging copyright infringement. So far, Samsung has not paid the huge fine to Apple, but one of the world’s most successful Android device makers has appealed against the ruling.
