Six more Yahoo services are shutting down

The company has announced the retirement of six more services, focusing more on core services. Just a few days ago in March with Yahoo Avatars, Blackberry Apps, Sport IQ Seven products have been discontinued This search service is led by Marissa Mayer.

Yahoo has started to turn around

These relatively less lucrative services are new to retirement Yahoo! The company also announced the launch of the product. The last 7 services to be discontinued are:

1. Yahoo Upcoming– This is a local event calendar where users can also host their own events. The upcoming service was launched in 2005.

2. Yahoo Kids– Portal providing children’s news, games, etc., which was established in 1997 under the name of Yahuligans.

3. Yahoo Deals– Launched in 2006, the service offers the facility to purchase and save deals like various online coupons and groupings.

4. Yahoo SMS Alerts– It provided news and horoscopes through text messages.

5. Yahoo Mail and Messenger feature phone (J2ME) apps– Yahoo will discontinue application support for more OS-powered smartphone users than feature phone users.

. Older versions of Yahoo Mail– The company is retiring its old email interface versions by encouraging consumers to use the new Yahoo Mail service.

The old one will be closed on June 3rd Yahoo! Mail interface. The deadline for the remaining five services is set at 30 April 2013.
