At present most of our days are spent on battery powered devices. Great use of batteries everywhere from smartwatches, smartbands, smartphones, laptops, tablets to IPS. But if the charge of these rechargeable batteries does not last as expected then there is no limit to regret.
In this 2018, when people are enjoying great advances in science, there is not much development in the field of batteries as required. Earlier, feature phones had to be charged after an average of one and a half to two days, and now smartphones have to be charged in the morning and afternoon. Although the comparative capacity is increasing, the efficiency is increasing according to the usage, it cannot be said with emphasis.
A team of researchers from Harvard University in the United States has come up with a new piece of good news about battery charge capacity. They have developed a type of battery that can hold a charge for 10 years or more!
These batteries offer excellent long-lasting performance and are less risky to use. They do not carry any harmful chemicals like lithium batteries.
These flow cells, called flow batteries, ‘accumulate’ charge in a special type of liquid solution. By further developing this solution it is possible to bring it to the point where even 1000 charge / discharge cycles will cost only 1% of its capacity. Where an existing lithium ion battery lasts a lifetime of only 1000 charge / discharge cycles.
More scientists from Harvard University Reported, These flow batteries will cost less to make than lithium ion batteries. They are currently working to make them suitable for industrial use. They hope to be able to use them in power plants as well as everyday devices.
However, such amazing new discoveries have a long way to go in the hands of ordinary users like us. We have read many times before that the charge will last for 1 month, 2 months, 2 years. But the pumpkin that is so far, that pumpkin. That means we still have to pay that morning-evening mobile charge.
So for now, I’m happy to charge a smartphone for a week on a single charge! Nowadays, you usually have to charge the phone once a day. For now, it will take a week to charge. Next year can be calculated at least month / year!
