asimoPopular humanoid robot “Asimo” built by Japanese tech giant Honda is suddenly behaving unintentionally. Recently, while working as a guide at the Miracle Science Museum in Tokyo, it failed to detect human hand movements on its first day. While some of the visitors were taking pictures with their smartphones, Asimo saw people holding their mobile phones high and repeatedly mistakenly thought that they wanted to know any information from the robot. The Honda robot will be working as a “tour guide” experimentally for the next four months at that museum in Tokyo. The robot cannot detect human speech. Instead, the touchscreen can answer up to 100 written questions. When someone in the crowd raises his hand, Asimo recognizes it and says, “Who wants to ask Asimo a question?”

According to Honda, Asimo can recognize the faces and voices of different people differently. Asimo was created in 1997 and is still in development.
