Sujit Singh, director of the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC), said there were 22 cases of the Delta Plus variant in Maharashtra. Nine Delta Plus variants were found in Tamil Nadu, six in Madhya Pradesh, three in Kerala, two in Punjab and Gujarat and one each in Andhra Pradesh, Orissa, Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana and Karnataka. There have been three deaths so far due to the Delta Plus variant.
