Nokia’s first bezelless design Nokia X8 Android smartphone has been released in China behind the scenes. Ever since HMD Global started making Nokia phones, they have been releasing their new model phones in China for the first time without any media coverage. It usually happens a few days later and is released globally. HMD is going to follow the same path in the case of Nokia X7.
Nokia X7 has a 5.8 inch full HD bezelless and notched display. On the front, it looks a lot like the iPhone Ten. However, in terms of aspect ratio, they have given the display of 19: 9 ratio instead of the 18: 9 ratio of the trendy new phones. As a result, even if the display of the phone is large, you don’t have to get speed to take it or use it. The screen has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 as protection.
Nokia X8 uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 636 chipset which is good in both performance and power efficiency. Xiaomi also used the same chip in their Redmi Note 5 phones. The phone will come with 4 and 6 GB RAM. In terms of storage, it will come in two variants, one with 32 GB and the other with 64 GB storage. There is also the opportunity to use memory cards up to 256 GB.
Unlike Nokia’s other dual camera phones, the X7 doesn’t use Carl Zeiss optics, but it does bring a lot of good things to the camera sector. It has a 16-megapixel regular camera sensor and a 5-megapixel monochrome sensor on the back. And there is a 16 megapixel camera on the front. Nokia claims that it has applied artificial intelligence to its camera so that it can automatically detect scenes and give effects, as well as good bokeh effects for portraits.
Nokia X6 phone has a 3060 mAh battery which is expected to give a good backup of the device stock Android.
Notable features include a fingerprint sensor, USB Type-C port, Bluetooth 5.0 and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
This glass body phone will come in three colors white, black and blue. There will also be a protective cover inside the box. Nokia (read HMD) is also quite generous in terms of price. The most basic bundle with 4GB RAM and 32GB storage is priced at 1300 yuan which is about 200 US dollars. But it remains to be seen what the price will be in other countries in the global release.
The Nokia X7 is set to compete with Shaomi’s Redmi series in the mid-range market. Redmi phones have captured the market very well with good specifications at low prices. And with the recently released Redmi 5A dual camera, bezelless design, buyers’ eyes are almost entirely on Shaomi. So with Midrange’s triumph in the Asian market, Nokia is expected to compete with the Redmi 5, Honor 9 Lite or Zenfone Max Pro for their dual camera and notched design.
Nokia X7 The phone Released for China only, it has the latest patches for Android Orio, a Google Play service in China. It is expected to have a global release soon at a major event.
