Adding today’s number of cases, the total number of cases of Mucormycosis or Black Fungus in the state has risen to 47. Today (Thursday) two patients were infected with Black Fungus, one admitted to SSKM and the other to STM.

At the moment, the number of suspected patients with symptoms is 94 in West Bengal. Today (Thursday) the number of deaths due to black fungus is zero. However, a total of 11 people have died so far. Incidentally, the number of patients who had symptoms of black fungus in their body, but died before being confirmed, is still known.
Two people have recovered after being infected with Mucormycosis. They returned home today. So far, a total of 3 people have been freed from black fungus in West Bengal.
