Is this really how we see all the wonderful images of space or galaxies released by NASA? The direct answer would be “no”. After taking the pictures, they are edited on a large scale with the help of computer and they are ‘beautified’.

Adobe recently in one of their blog posts Said In fact, these images are edited in Photoshop. However, its photoshopping is not the work of an ordinary graphic designer, but its photoshopping is done by a skilled astronomer who can explain the photoshopped image and must have enough information to match the original image. Such is the case with Robert Hart, an astronomer who describes how such work is done. He says the work starts with a ‘ra’ grayscale data that is part of different infrared spectra. He fixes the contrast and translates infrared colors that cannot be seen with the naked eye. Sometimes he takes different layers of pictures from different telescopes to create the right image.

So what is understood? From animals, humans, nature to far-flung space, many things are made ‘beautiful’ through Photoshop.
