The popularity of group calls or conferences is increasing day by day due to the improvement of internet system. In particular, due to the ongoing Corona virus epidemic, repairs to important meeting video conferences have become an essential issue.
Basically the group video calling feature is known to us as conference. In this post we will learn about some of the apps that will make online meeting or discussion easier by adding other features along with video calling.
Zoom Meetings is a feature-packed video conferencing app capable of satisfying even enterprise level users. Anyone can host a video conference by opening a free account at Zoom Meetings. The free version of the Zoom Meetings app allows up to 100 people to join a video conference. However, the time is limited to 40 minutes. Free account users will be able to record video or audio as well as share their screens with other participants.
However, it is possible to say goodbye to this time limit by upgrading to a paid plan. Interestingly, the number of hosting meetings is not limited to the free version of Zoom Meetings. This means that once the 40-minute deadline has passed, you can host a new meeting if you wish.
Another advantage of Zoom Meetings is that it works with apps as well as web browsers, software or browser extensions.
Anyone with a Gmail account can easily access the Google Hangouts app. Free Gmail and Basic Google Suite subscribers will be able to talk up to 10 people simultaneously using this app.
(Besides You can use the free Google Meet.)
In addition to the voice chat facility, users will be able to join Google Hangouts calls via email or link. Google’s G Suite users will be able to steam more than 1 lakh viewer supported videos through the domain. There is also the facility to record and save the meetings directly in Google Drive.
Google Hangouts can be used in web browsers as well as apps on Android and iOS.
People who haven’t heard of Skype may not be found. The app has been at the forefront of online calling for a long time. Currently no more than 50 people (including hosts) have the opportunity to talk on video calls for free on Skype. In April 2019, the company changed the limit of the previous 25 people to 50.
Call recording and storage for up to 30 days is also available on Skype. Skype can be accessed through a web browser on a computer and an app on a smartphone.
For organizations that already use Slack for communication, this could be an ideal solution for video conferencing. The video conferencing feature on Slack works a lot like an add-on. Although one-on-one video calling is available for free on Slack, large-scale meetings have to go through enterprise-level pricing.
Cisco is an organization that typically deals with valuable enterprise products. This means that it is beyond the reach of free users. Webex is a solution to the company’s video conferencing system that can be an alternative to any similar product.
A maximum of 100 people can participate in a call at Cisco Webex. There is no limit to the number of calls, which is a good thing. You will also get 1 GB of cloud storage in the free account. It also has features like screen share, fine share and video recording.
Cisco WebX can be used through websites, desktop applications or mobile apps.
Jitsi is a 100% free and feature-rich open source project. It has a server for video conferencing. However, users also have the advantage of hosting video conferencing on their own server.
Although there is a target to have more than 100 participants in the conference at the same time, at present a maximum of 75 people can join a conference at the same time. In addition to screen sharing facilities, Jitsi has Android and iOS apps. There is also the facility to save the conference, stream or download on YouTube.
Up to 10,000 people can join the same call simultaneously using the Microsoft team. Meetings can be recorded and then stored on OneDrive for sharing or reference. Encrypt technology is used in meetings to protect privacy. However, in order to enjoy the full benefits of the Microsoft team, you must have a subscription to the Microsoft 365 package.
