By putting this idea to good use, Amazon has been able to turn the marketplace into an ad platform. According to eMarketers, Amazon’s US-based ad business is expected to reach ৮ 9.75 billion this year. By that figure, Amazon accounted for 7.8% of the ad business across the United States.
Uber has lost 1 billion in the last three months, including ৬ 317 million in its own. However, Uber has been able to increase the popularity of their Eats app, which is evident from the 64% of their revenue compared to last year. Taking advantage of this app’s popularity, Uber can return to business glory by entering the ad business.
Uber needed an additional source of income to keep its share price, without depriving drivers or restaurants. In a few days, Uber will use self-driving vehicles, which will save a huge chunk of their costs.
